Downing is an eminent professor in Clark University in Worcester in the department of Psychology. The credibility of the author is evident in the way he presents the entire research thing to prove his point. Jordan B. Downing uses some key terms in the article while narrating these important issues on the family structure. Those key terms are “Gender Identity”, “Lesbian Woman”, “Gender Identification”, “Trans-Parent”, and “Trans-People”. Now these key terms represent one thing common that is gender. Gender is a social construct which Downing puts an emphasis on. The transition in the family structure is the prime focus of this article.
